Becoming a Member
Who can become a member?
Membership is open to formally registered resale businesses across the Americas — including the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. You'll be asked to provide proof of business during application. We do not accept applications from private individuals.
Do I need a Resale Certificate?
Yes. As a B2B marketplace, we require a valid Resale Certificate before you can trade. Requirements and formats vary by state, so the most reliable source is your state government's website — in most states, obtaining one is a simple registration form. You can submit your application before you have it, but your membership will not be approved until we receive it.
How much does membership cost?
A one-time, non-refundable $98 membership fee, payable after your application is approved. There are no recurring membership fees.
How long does the application review take?
A few business days. We review every application individually.
Why do I have two logins?
Your membership opens two doors: the Member Portal on this site, where you browse Wholesale inventory and manage your account, and Brand Auction, our Japan-based weekly auction platform, which runs on its own system. You'll receive separate credentials for each when your membership is activated.
What is the Walkthrough Session, and why is it required?
Before you can bid, we walk you through both platforms one-on-one and set your bidding limit. It takes about 30 minutes if you're experienced with auctions — most members take about an hour, and it's time well spent: members who complete it make fewer bidding mistakes, avoid unintended purchases, and become profitable faster.
Buying & Bidding
What are the two ways to buy?
Brand Auction — weekly auctions of items sourced and inspected in Japan, across several formats (real-time auctions, timed value-price auctions, Buy It Now, and Brand Mall).
Wholesale — fixed-price inventory located in the U.S., shipped domestically. Most members use both.
What do the condition ranks mean?
Every item is graded by trained specialists on a five-rank overall scale — S / A / B / C / D, listed from least to most wear. Many listings also carry separate interior and exterior grades on a six-point scale (S, 1+, 1, 2+, 2, 3), which is what a notation like “B (2+/2)” refers to. Each listing includes written condition details and photos, so you know exactly what you're buying before you commit. The full Condition Guide is covered in your Walkthrough.
Are the items authentic?
Yes. Every item is inspected and graded in-house by specialists before it's listed — our business has run on the credibility of that inspection since 1984. Wholesale items additionally come with a Certificate of Authenticity, provided after purchase. Brand Auction items do not include a certificate; they are sold on the strength of our expert inspection.
Can I negotiate prices on Wholesale items?
Yes — Wholesale listings include a Negotiate Price option. Submit your offer and our team will review it. If you don't hear back within one week, the offer expires.
Can I sell my own inventory through AUCNET?
Not yet — listing by U.S. members is coming soon. If you're interested, mention it during your Walkthrough or Consultation so we can notify you when it opens.
Payment & Fees
What fees do I pay beyond the item price?
Wholesale: none — the listed price is the price.
Brand Auction: a per-item handling fee of 10% for items up to 100,000 JPY (minimum 750 JPY) and 7% for items above 100,000 JPY, plus shipping, insurance (if selected), and any applicable duties and taxes. Full details are in your membership agreement and covered during your Walkthrough.
When do I pay?
You'll receive an invoice after each purchase. Payment is due within 3 days of the invoice date. Late payment results in suspension of your bidding privileges, and extended delays are subject to late fees and termination under the membership agreement — so if you ever anticipate a delay, contact us before the due date.
Shipping & Claims
Where do items ship from — and where can they ship to?
Wholesale items are located in the U.S. and ship to U.S. addresses only. Brand Auction items ship from Japan; as the importer, you're responsible for applicable duties and customs fees. Delivery preferences are confirmed during your Walkthrough.
Which couriers do you use?
FedEx and DHL.
What if there's a problem with an item I received?
As a B2B marketplace for pre-owned goods, we don't offer general returns — but you're protected by our claim system. If an item clearly differs from its listing (condition, damage, functionality, or incorrect information), file a claim through the claim system; most claim types must be filed within 10 days, with longer windows for authenticity-related claims (up to 90 days when a maker deems an item counterfeit). Approved claims are compensated per the Claim Rules & Guidelines, which you receive as part of your membership agreement. Please review condition details and photos carefully before purchasing.
